The scene:
Tavern on the Green. Christian Mir is the Executive Sous Chef. Elaine DiGiacomo works at the Italian Station. She burns her hand on a sauce pan her first night cooking at Tavern. Christian comes to the rescue. Sparks fly. Christian realizes he has found the perfect partner with which to share his dream of opening a restaurant. After their marriage in 19 94, while visiting Elaine's parents' summer home in Westhampton Beach, they had another instant attraction: to the former Ambassador Inn in East Quogue. They purchased the property, renamed it The Stone Creek Inn, and following extensive renovations, the 150 seat restaurant opened in May 1996.

But the Inn has a sordid past- the East Quogue building's genealogy is almost as interesting as its food. Back in the 20's it was a speakeasy, and rumor has it, also a brothel. A cottage still stands on the rear of the property that received contraband liquor during the wee hours of the night.
